What is Podiatry?

A Podiatrist is a doctor who practices on the lower extremities, mainly the feet and ankles. They focus on the well-being and overall health of their patients by providing education, comprehensive diagnosis, and developing treatment options.

A Podiatrist has extensive education which includes four years of undergraduate work,followed by four years in an accredited podiatric medical school, followed by a hospital based residency. They are licensed in all 50 states to diagnose and treat ailments of the foot or ankle by medical, surgical, or other means deemed appropriate.

A Podiatrist is a valuable resource for many ailments associated with the foot and ankles such as heel pain, bunions, injuries to the feet or ankles, warts, and nail problems. Their goal is to provide care and comfort for you so that you are not compromised by ailments associated with the feet.
